TheWildlifePortal.tv Approved for Tax- Deductible Donations

Many of you will probably have noticed the lack of blogs and newsletters from TheWildlifePortal.tv over the past few months. This has been due to the setup of our financing structure which we are glad to announce is now in place.

We are happy to announce that WildlifePortal.tv is now *Fiscally Sponsored by San Francisco based Environmental Media Fund allowing our work to receive tax-deductible donations and grants. This now means any donation you make to an individual project on TheWildlifePortal.tv is tax-deductible helping us and helping you.

Where will your donations be spent? Our fund raising efforts are on a project-to-project basis, meaning funds will be raised for each educational film project as we go. This way, donors are able to see their donations being used directly for the individual project and the final result once live on our site.

How do I make a donation? I’m glad you asked! We now have a new donation widget on our homepage allowing donors to make a quick and easy donation with either a credit/debit card or direct from a bank account via a Paypal account. This widget can also be embedded onto your own website to help raise funds for TheWildlifePortal.tv; just click on the ‘Add to site’ link within the widget.

* How does fiscal sponsorship work? Fiscal Sponsorship is when a nonprofit organization / foundation (usually one registered as a 501(c)(3) with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service) agrees to “sponsor” the activities of an individual, for-profit organization or corporation, foreign nonprofit, or any other type of organization, association, or group. Fiscal sponsorship allows donations to the sponsored individual or organization to be tax deductible. Fiscal sponsorship is often used by existing nonprofits to further their charitable or philanthropic public benefit purposes, or to incubate new nonprofit initiatives without the cost and time burden of registering a new nonprofit.
